FIA (Foundation in Accounting)
What is FIA?
Foundation in Accounting(FIA), provides an excellent starting point for those who wish to pursue a career in accountancy and become a professional accountant. The qualifications are business focused equipping individuals with the core skills of financial and management accounting. Individuals can start from various entry points, allowing students and employers the flexibility to tailor the courses to their needs.
The FIA Program
Exams
- The FIA exams are all CBE (computer-based exams), and students can sit them at any time in our accredited CBE centre.
- The test duration is 2 hours and results are known immediately.
Exemptions
- Students with the relevant qualification from a recognised institution may be eligible to claim exemptions from FIA papers.
- To be awarded the FIA Certificate or Diploma, it is necessary to pass at least one exam at the respective level and the online Foundations in Professionalism module.

Who Can Study FIA?
The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2 and 3) is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in:
- A junior accounts clerk / junior bookkeeper role in an SME.
- Junior accounting administration roles within an accounting department of a larger organisation or a financial shared service centre.
The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) is broadly equivalent to GCSE level.
